…Thus far I have been describing paradoxes in God’s nature and in what he has done in the world through Christ. I will now turn to paradoxes in “Christian living,” that is, paradoxes in the way of life taught by Scripture, especially in letters in the New Testament, and even more importantly, by Jesus himself. All of the following paradoxes are deeply connected; they can be thought of as different aspects or formulations of the same essential theme or truth.
